What happens to the details you give me, in plain words.

What I collect

When you start a project: your name and email, and if you add them, your business name, phone number and how you heard about Barebones. Also your answers about the project, and any files or links you share.

Why

Only to reply to your brief, give you a price and do the work. I don't sell your details, share them for marketing or add you to a mailing list.

Where it goes

When you send your brief, it's emailed to me through Resend, an email service, with a copy to you. It isn't kept in a database on this site. Before it's sent, Cloudflare Turnstile checks it came from a person, not a bot; that check uses your IP address and browser details. The site is hosted on Cloudflare.

In your browser

Your answers are saved in your own browser as you go, so you can come back to them, until you send your brief or choose Start over. Attached files aren't saved. Your light or dark setting is saved there too. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.

How long I keep it

If a project doesn't go ahead, I delete your brief within 12 months. If it does, I keep the project emails and files for 7 years, as tax law requires.

Seeing or correcting your details

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the information I hold about you, or ask me to correct it. Email harry@barebones.co.nz.

Not sure what you need?

Tell me what the business is and where the work has to sit — a menu, a label, a phone screen — and I'll tell you what I'd do and what it costs. No obligation. A straight answer, not a sales call.
